Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are created by GFO members with common research interests. Each group determines its own topics and meeting times. Some groups are more formal with presentations at every meeting. Some prefer less structured discussions. The Rogue Valley Genealogical Society (RVGS) has some great SIGS you might also like to attend. SIG meetings sponsored by GFO and RVGS are held online, are open to all, and are free!

Click on the individual listings below to learn the best way to stay informed, whether it be through the GFO website or group mailing lists; to obtain registration information; or to obtain presentation handouts when they are available.
Policy on Special Interest Groups
To provide its members comprehensive opportunities, the Genealogical Forum of Oregon will encourage Special Interest Groups (SIGs) on any topic related to genealogy. The GFO encourages Forum members to form and participate in such groups. A SIG must be formed and maintained by a member or group of members, but SIG membership may not be limited to Forum members.
