This group meets online.
The SIG meets online every other month on the third Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. Pacific Time. (The kickoff meeting, however, will be on the fourth Tuesday, April 22, 2025.) AI in Genealogy SIG members will explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in genealogical research and reporting. This group provides a forum for genealogists to learn, experiment, discuss, and share their experiences with applying AI tools to ethical, accurate, and effective family history research, data analysis, and storytelling.
Participation Requirements:
- Membership in the Genealogical Forum (GFO) of Oregon.
- Active Participation - members are expected to engage in discussions, share their knowledge, and present their successes and challenges with AI use.
- To facilitate hands-on learning, members are expected to maintain a free account on at least one AI platform (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity, etc.).
- Members are encouraged to experiment with AI tools between meetings. Meetings include AI tool demonstrations, discussions on emerging technology, and opportunities for members to showcase successes and challenges in applying AI to their genealogy journey.
