Multnomah County Marriages
The Genealogical Forum of Oregon (GFO) holds the original Multnomah County marriage record books dating back to the very first recorded marriage in 1855 which includes volumes 1 through 56 and 60. We do not have volumes 57-59 at our library.
Over 29,600 marriages have been indexed for the 1855-1899 file; 54,264 for the 1900-1924 file.
Note: When there was more than one spelling for a groom or bride’s name within the same document, all spellings were entered in the same field with a / between the spellings. As an example of the surname Schmidt / Schmitt or of the given name James Fenton / Joseph Fenton. The column “Marriage or License Year” includes the year a license was obtained and either Cancelled or No Return was submitted to the county clerk.
You may search for either the groom or the bride in each PDF file by using Ctrl+F on a PC or Cmd+F on a Mac.
