Donation Land Claims - Rejected Claims
Donation Land Claims were granted to settlers of the Oregon and Washington Territories who arrived prior to 1853 (see our DLC brochure). Some of these claims did not meet the criteria and were rejected. The files contain considerable genealogical data whether they were completed or rejected. Originals of these claims are located in the National Archives in Washington, D.C. The GFO has copies on microfilm and we will copy the entire claim file for you. Use our index of rejected claim holders to determine the claim office and claim number.
GFO members: Digital copies are free. Request yours in MemberSpace.
Claims already digitized are available now to members in MemberSpace
