White Temple WWI Service Flag

The Oregonian, 14 Jan 1918, page 14

An enthusiastic patriotic service at the White Temple—First Baptist Church—attracted a large attendance last night, when the service flag of the church, bearing 47 stars, was unveiled.

The music, under the direction of Harold Hurlbut, was appropriate and inspiring. The address of the evening was given by Rev. J. Sherman Wallace, of McMinnville. Upon the unfurling of the flag the entire congregation rose and sang “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
