A service flag for the Wheeler County High School was dedicated with appropriate services at the Monday morning assembly. There were seven blue stars for the seven boys:
- Merle Brown
- Loren Cooper
- Paul Cook
- Glen Hoover
- Joe Morris
- George Reed
- Fred Sankey
The assembly-room was well filled, and in addition to the regular student body, there were many relatives and friends of the boys who are now “somewhere in France.” The dedicatory address was delivered by Hon. James Stewart, ex-Representative from Wheeler County.
The student body unanimously decided to dispense with their high school annual and to use the money therefor for the benefit of the boys in France.
