Vertical Files
For decades, the Genealogical Forum has collected miscellaneous materials from its members. These loose papers were kept in file cabinets. Files were grouped into three categories: surnames, geographic locations, and cemeteries.
Files may include photographs, pedigree charts, vital records, newspaper clippings, correspondence, brochures, pamphlets, and other miscellaneous items.
Materials in the vertical files are cataloged by the file folder title (surname, location, or cemetery). Additional information about the content may be included in the description.
The PDF list provides access to all vertical files that have been digitized, prepared for viewing, and cataloged.
Files that have not been digitized remain available in the GFO Library. As more files are processed, the PDF list will be updated.
Volunteers are needed to scan, process, and catalog additional files. If you would like to help, please contact the GFO Library.
