Abstract: Genealogical research as compiled by Rebecca Jane Walker. Includes photographs, family group sheets, descendant charts, correspondence, biographical sketches, copies of vital records, and various court and land records. The research spans several decades and follows the family from England to New England and through several Midwestern states as they made their way toward Oregon and Washington. The primary surnames include Walker, Crowley, Vashon/Vachon/Vashaw, Inman, Mitchell and Berchard.

Mrs. Walker corresponded with family members across the country, gathering photos and stories. The collection includes several files containing photographs. Although most of the photos are of Ms. Walker’s family members, a number appear to be unrelated. One set of photos contains a note about Ms. Walker’s practice of rescuing miscellaneous photo albums she found in second-hand stores. She seemed interested in the history surrounding the key events in her family’s lives and collected the information needed to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
