Abstract:
The Metcalf Collection contains the papers assembled by Kathryn Metcalf over the course of several decades. Kathryn’s papers are dated from the 1970s, before the age of computers and the internet, until shortly before her death in 1999 at the age of 91. A large percentage of the papers is correspondence with other researchers and professional genealogists. Of special interest are files 6-10 in Box 2. These contain lists of sources on the various surnames found on her family tree. In addition to her own family, she researched those of her two husbands. The most common surnames are Brink, Hoisington, Metcalf, and Upson. Most families had New England roots, but one family line has roots in Quebec, Canada.
