Abstract: The collection of Laura (Kampy/Kamppinen) Park contains research tracing her ancestors and those of her husband. She followed some ancestors back to the 1600s. The collection is rich with correspondence. In many cases Mrs. Park included copies of letters that she sent as well as those she received. The bulk of this correspondence took place in the 1960s and 1970s. There are some primary sources including Bible records, obituaries, funeral cards, will extracts, and marriage records. There are also biographical sketches and lineage society applications. The material is arranged on family group sheets and pedigree charts. Prominent surnames are Kamppinen (and variations including Kampy), Uitto, Park, and Hunt. The Kamppinen research leads directly to Finland. The Park line winds through Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, and New Jersey, with roots in England.
