Abstract: The Davenport Collection is a compilation of personal family history research by Mary Caffey Davenport. Mary researched both her own and her husband’s ancestors. Items include correspondence with other researchers, copies of records, research notes, family group sheets, and both ancestor and descendant charts. File 39 holds photos of extended family members, though not all are identified. It also has photos of grave markers that were taken during research trips.

Prominent surnames include Caffey, Cross, Riddle, and Wright on Mary’s side of the family. Names from her husband’s side of the family include Davenport, Fredenburg, and Goble. Both sides of the family settled in Oregon, arriving by way of California, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, and Virginia.
