Abstract: The Kimsey Collection contains papers assembled by James Kimsey. James was an avid researcher of the Kimsey/Kimzey lines and contributed to books and newsletters dedicated to the family, some of which can be found in the GFO library. The bulk of the collection is correspondence with other researchers. There are also copies of many primary source documents and biographical sketches. There are pedigree and descendant charts that show the relationships between the various family lines. Several files contain copies of letters from the early 1900s, interview notes, and reminiscences of trail journeys. The focus of the collection traces the Kimsey family line. The most common surnames are Kimsey/Kimzey, Crowley, and Simpson.
