Abstract: The Hayes Collection contains notes and correspondence related to the research of Fred Willis Hayes. The most common surnames are Hayes, Hill, Russell, and Jewett. The families are traced from England, through the upper Midwest, and finally to Oregon, where many of them settled. The files are first organized alphabetically by surname, followed by files with notes and correspondence.
