Funeral Cards and Obituaries
The Genealogical Forum of Oregon has a small collection of donated funeral cards,
some with obituaries. The funeral cards date from 1868 to 1996; most are from Oregon,
three from California, and two from Washington. The index below provides links to the
card images.
A funeral card can provide valuable information for your family history research, and it
can support information you have found in other records. In addition to the date and
location of death and the burial location, many funeral cards include age in years,
months, and days. Some of the cards in the GFO collection include nativity, birthdate,
family connections, names of friends, membership in fraternal societies, and religious
affiliation.
