Abstract: Genealogical research as donated by Rebecca Jane Walker. Includes 51 files containing photographs, family group sheets, descendant charts, correspondence, biographical sketches, copies of vital records, as well as various court and land records. The research spans several decades and follows the family from England to New England and through several Midwestern states as they made their way toward Oregon and Washington. The primary surnames include Walker, Crowley, Vashon/Vachon/Vashaw, Inman, Mitchell and Berchard. Ms. Walker's manuscript collection also includes several files containing collections of photographs. Although most of the photos are of Ms. Walker's family members, a number of them appear to be unrelated. One set of photos, by way of a possible explanation to these additional photograph collections, contains a note about Ms. Walker's practice of rescuing miscellaneous photo albums she found in second-hand stores.
